DIVISIONS

Juniors: Grade 5 or 6 during the 2007-2008 academic year AND Grade 7 or 8 during the 2007-2008 academic year.

Scholastic: Grade 9, 10 or 11 during the 2007-2008 academic year. Athletes must be under age 19 as of July 11, 2008.

Open: High school seniors or athletes age 19 and older.

All ages are as of July 11, 2008, and all grades are as of the 2007-2008 academic year.

ELIGIBILITY

•  A full-time Massachusetts resident at least 30 days prior to the tournament date.

•  A full-time student at a recognized academic institution in Massachusetts.

FEE

$25 All divisions are FINALS ONLY competition.

Junior: Friday, July 11

Scholastic: Friday, July 11 and Saturday, July 12

Open: Saturday, July 12

RULES

All athletes must report to the Finals at the weights listed below. This applies to all divisions. There are no weight allowances.

WEIGHT

All weights in pounds. Please mark your weight code on your entry form CODES in the Event / Position / Division Code section.

Junior: Classes (24 total) will be determined contingent upon the weights of registrants. Only 208 athletes will be accepted. Please write weight on application.

WEIGH INS

Junior: Friday, July 11 from 10:30-11:30am at UMass Boston

Scholastic: Thursday, July 10 from 6-7pm at satellite locations (listed below) OR Friday, July 11 from 11am-12pm at UMass Boston

Open: Saturday, July 12 from 8-9:30am at UMass Boston

Directions: From Dedham Square, go through main set of lights in Dedham Square heading towards court houses. Go through two sets of lights. High Street becomes Common Street at the intersection of High and Route 109. The Rec Center is on your right about ¼ of a mile after lights across the street from the Northeastern track. Enter through the door in the back of the building.

Directions: From 128, follow Sohier Rd. As you approach BHS, take the first driveway and follow it to the back of the school. Continue to the parking lot closest to the playing fields. Enter the locker room door marked “Bay State Games Weigh Ins.”

From the south, take Route 24 North. Take exit 15 for RT-104 E toward Bridgewater. Merge onto Pleasant St/RT-104. Turn left at Center St
From the west, take Route 495 to Exit 7A to merge onto RT-24 N toward Boston. Take exit 15 for RT-104 E toward Bridgewater. Merge onto Pleasant St/RT-104. Turn left at Center St.

Directions: Traveling on Route 495 going north or south, take Exit 27 off Route 495 onto route 117 West (Main Street). Go approximately 1 ¼ miles. You will pass Bolton Police Station on right and the town library on the left. A little further on you will see Bolton House of Pizza on the left. Just before that you will want to take a right onto Green Road, and then a quick left into the high school parking lot. (Although you will see the high school from the road, and may access it from Main Street, the administrative parking lot in accessed from Green Rd.)

Directions: From I-91, take Exit 8 to route 291. Get into right lane. Take Exit 3 (Armory St). At the end of the ramp, go through the traffic light. Take first right onto Armory St South. At the third light, turn right onto Taylor St. Take immediate left onto Federal St. Go about 1/2  mile and turn right into STCC’s main gate.
From Mass Pike (I-90), take Exit 6 (Springfield). At the end of ramp, turn left onto Route 291. Take Armory St exit. Go ¾ of the way around the rotary and take Armory Street South. At the third light, turn right onto Taylor St. Take immediate left onto Federal St. Go about 1/2 mile and turn right into STCC’s main gate.

**Athletes may weigh in at any location regardless of region.

FORMAT

The competition is a FOLKSTYLE tournament.

Junior: Registration is CLOSED. Confirmation will be mailed once registration is processed. The competition will be a one-day format on Friday, July 11.

Scholastic: Registration is CLOSED. On-site registration will NOT be accepted.

Open: Registration is CLOSED. Confirmation will be mailed once registration is processed. The competition will be a one-day format on Friday, July 12.

We have expanded our wrestling committee as Mark Thomas will now serve as the Scholastic director while Mike Curley will coordinate the Open tournament.
