Bay State Games Now Accepting Inquiries from Runners to be a Part of the
2011 Boston Marathon Team |

Bay State Games is accepting inquiries for TEAM oriented runners who would like to run the Boston Marathon on Patriots Day, Monday, April 18th, 2011, for the Bay State Games.
By choosing to run for the Bay State Games you will become part of an incredible group of people and have the experience of a lifetime as you train and fundraise for the Games and compete in the Boston Marathon.
The minimum fundraising obligation for a charity runner is $3,250 and for a qualified charity runner is $700.
Each team member running for Bay State Games will receive:
- The opportunity to train with other runners and organized long runs.
- Team coaching and running advice from various experts.
- Monthly meetings discussing fundraising, training and the race with special guest speakers as well as team seminars on Nutrition, Recovery, Motivation and Injury Prevention.
- Fundraising set up.
- BAA Charity clinic hosted by Dave McGillivray Race Director of the Boston Marathon.
- Team fundraising events such as Lucky Strike Bowling
- Fundraising Incentives
- Team uniform
- Bus to the start of the race
- Pre Race Team Pasta Party
- Opportunities for families to get involved and be part of your experience

Bay State Games is a non-profit organization, established in 1982 with the mission of promoting personal development, education, health, physical fitness and sportsmanship through athletic and educational programs for Massachusetts citizens of all ages. Each year, over 30,000 participants, ranging in age from 6 to over 90 and representing more than 300 Massachusetts cities and towns take part in various Bay State Games programs. These include the Bay State Summer and Winter Games, the Kids Fitness Challenge for Massachusetts elementary and middle school students, the High School Spirit Program for all Massachusetts secondary schools, the Future Leaders Scholarship program, a sportsmanship initiative and a sports medicine conference. All programs are at nominal fees or free of charge to participants. Bay State Games annually distributes grants and scholarships to individuals and schools to support their physical education programs, athletic departments or college education pursuits. Over 1,200 volunteers are involved each year to conduct all Bay State Games programs. |
