All teams are scheduled to play a minimum of five and a maximum of six games.
DIVISIONS
Scholastic: Athletes must be in the 9th, 10th or 11th grade as of the 2010-2011 academic year, AND under the age of 19 as of June 1, 2011.
ELIGIBILITY
An athlete must meet ONE of the following criteria:
- A full-time Massachusetts resident within the region for 30 days prior to first day of tryouts.
- A full-time Massachusetts student at a recognized academic institution in the region.
REGIONS
To determine your region, please check the Town Codes. Athletes who are eligible for multiple regions may only tryout for one team.
AMERICAN LEGION RULES
American Legion Baseball-Massachusetts, has created specific rules and requirements related to the participation of American Legion players in the Bay State Games. The regulations include: - No more than three players from the same high school baseball team can play for the same Bay State Games team. Per American Legion rules no more than two players from the same American Legion Baseball team can play for ANY Bay State Games team regardless of age or sport. Schools are determined as of the 2010-2011 academic year.

Once Bay State Games teams are selected, any American Legion baseball player must get a waiver from their Legion coach to play in the Summr Games. American Legion requires that all American Legion players need a waiver regardless of age. The waiver must be submitted prior to an athlete’s first game. Please note that this is an American Legion waiver, and is not provided by the Bay State Games.

Bay State Games rosters consist of 25 players. Players who have a conflict between Bay State Games and a Legion game will be released from their Bay State Games event in time to make their Legion game. American Legion has determined that players who miss a Legion game for a BSG game will be suspended for the remainder of the season.

Pitchers will be limited to no more than 7 innings for the tournament.

TRYOUT RULES
- A minimum of three (3) tryouts will be held between June 11-22.
- Athletes must participate in a minimum of two (2) tryouts to be considered for the team. Bay State Games coaches do not have the authority to waive the two-tryout rule. Waivers can only be granted by the Director of Operations and/or the Executive Director of the Bay State Games if participation numbers warrant.
If you cannot attend the first tryout date listed on the website, contact your region’s coach for additional tryouts. Athletes are responsible for getting tryout info, individual athletes will not be contacted with their tryout information. Athletes are also responsible for reading team sport rules in the general information section.
