Schedule I Registration: Closed I Finalist Packet
ELIGIBILITY |
To qualify for a region, an athlete must be ONE of the following:
- A full-time resident of Massachusetts for 30 days prior to first day of tryouts.
- A full-time student at a recognized academic institution in the region.
- A registered member of a figure skating club in Massachusetts. The club must be your exclusive “contact” within the sport.

AGE |
All athletes must be a minimum of 8 years old by January 22, 2010, to be eligible for
the competition. |

VALIDATION |
All ISI skaters’ current ISI memberships and test levels WILL BE CONFIRMED with the ISI National office. The skater’s name, club/rink, events entered, and ISI membership number must be included on the application to be accepted. This is an ISI Endorsed competition. Endorsement # 1-1337-2010 |

EVENTS |
|
The Figure Skating competition will offer Freestyle and Artistic Solo events FOR ALL
LEVELS. Athletes in any level can enter any two of the following events.
• Freestyle (level 1-9 & Adult)
• Artistic Solo (level 1-9 & Adult)
• USFS Freestyle event (if eligible)
No athlete can enter more than a total of two events between ISI and/or USFS |

FEE |
$80 for the 1st event
$40 for the 2nd event
• One Bay State Games award jacket will be presented to each gold medalist. Additional Bay State Games merchandise will be available to all athletes.
• Athletes WILL RECEIVE a ticket to attend the Bay State Skate at Williams College on Saturday night, February 7. Additional tickets can be purchased at a cost of $10 and will be on sale in advance or at the door. |

ENTRY DEADLINE |
Entries must be postmarked by U.S. Post Office, or registered online by December 11, 2009. Late entries will not be accepted. All entries received by the deadline will be accepted. Athletes can register on line with a credit card at www.baystategames.org. Applications can also be mailed to BAY STATE GAMES 55 Sixth Road Woburn, MA 01801 |

AWARDS |
Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be awarded to the top three athletes in each division and event/flight. Any athlete that wins a gold medal will receive a Bay State Games award jacket. Athletes that win more than one gold medal will only receive one jacket. All registered athletes will receive a 2010 Bay State Games t-shirt. Any athlete that wins a gold, silver or bronze medal will also receive an invitation to the 2011 State Games of America Figure Skating competition in San Diego, California on Aug 4-7. |

REFUNDS |
Refunds of entry fees will be considered for medically verified injuries only. Refund requests must be accompanied by a doctor’s note outlining the injury and why the athlete is unable to compete. THERE WILL BE NO CASH REFUNDS OF ENTRY FEES. Athletes approved for a refund will receive a defer certificate that can be used as a credit for future Bay State Games Figure Skating participation. By signing the participant waiver on the entry form, participants acknowledge that they agree to this policy. |

RETURNED CHECKS |
If an entry fee check is returned from the Bank, the athlete must pay the full entry fee plus a $25 bank fee before the registration will be confirmed. |

CONFIRMATION |
All athletes will be mailed a confirmation packet no earlier than December 30, 2009 with schedules, directions and other details. Athletes who register online must use the Club Officer Permission Form that is included with this application, have it signed by your club representative and fax or mail to Bay State Games by December 11, 2009. IF YOU REGISTER ON LINE DO NOT MAIL IN A SECOND APPLICATION FORM. Athletes who mail in their application form must get their club officer’s signature on the entry form prior to submitting it to the Games. |

• Specific times cannot be listed until after the entry deadline.
• Changes in times or days of events may be required once the exact number of entrants is determined.
• ISI will be scheduled on multiple days.

FLIGHT POLICY |
ISI does allow flights with only one skater to compete. In this case, skaters will compete “against the book” and will be judged. As the event will be competed even if there is only one skater, there will be no refunds for single skater flights in ISI events. |

Artistic 1-5 = 1.5 min.
Artistic 6-9 = 2 min.

Free 1-3 = 1.5 min.
Free 4-5 = 2 min.
Free 6 = 2.5 min. |
Free 7 = 3 min.
Free 8 = 3.5 min.
Free 9 = 4 min. |

SKATE SHOW |
The 2010 Bay State Games Figure Skating Show will be held Saturday, January 23 at 7:30pm at the Williams College Skating Rink. Gold medal winning athletes from selected divisions during the Bay State Games Figure Skating competition will be invited to skate in the show. The specific divisions that will be invited to the show will be posted in the athlete finalist packet. All athletes WILL RECEIVE ONE COMPLIMENTARY TICKET to attend the show. Additional tickets are available for $10 each. THERE IS NO ADMISSION CHARGE FOR SPECTATORS FOR THE COMPETITION ON January 22-24. There is only an admission charge for the show on January 23. |

COMPETITION CHECK IN & MUSIC |
On the day of the competition, athletes must arrive at least one hour prior to the scheduled start time. Upon arrival, athletes will check in at registration and turn in their competition music. Cassette tapes or CD’s are permitted. The tape or CD must be properly marked with your name, event and flight number. Only one track per CD. No CD/RW’s You must have a duplicate tape or CD and a practice tape or CD. Athletes are responsible for picking up their music after their competition. Bay State Games is not responsible for lost or stolen music |
