Competition Highlights

  • Tournament now open to teams from Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New York Rhode Island, and Vermont
  • All teams play a minimum of three games and a maximum of five games during the two day tournament
  • All games played in two stop time halves

Divisions

5th and 6th Grade

  • Male and Female Divisions
  • Athletes must also be age 13 or younger at the start of the tournament

7th and 8th Grade

  • Male and Female Divisions
  • Athletes must also be age 15 or younger at the start of the tournament

Grades as of 2017-2018 academic year. No coed teams allowed. There are no separations by grade within divisions.
Athletes must meet both grade and age eligibility criteria.

Team Roster Form - Coach must fill out and return with Individual Player Forms 
Individual Player Forms - Each player/parent must fill out this form and all team forms must be returned to the Bay State Games prior to the tournament.

Eligibility

An athlete must meet at least one of the following criteria

  • A full time resident of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, New York, or Maine
  • A full time student at a recognized academic institution in Massachusetts

Rules

  • The three point line will be used in all games
  • Games tied at the end of regulation will play a three minute overtime
  • National High School Federation rules govern competition
  • Each team must have a minimum of five (5) players and a maximum of fourteen (14) players.

Format

Applications are accepted on a first come, first serve basis. There are no qualifiers for the tournament. Teams will be assigned to pools and play a minimum of three pool games. Pool winners will advance to finals play. MASF reserves the right to change the format based on the number of entries.

State Games of America

All medalists in this event will qualify for the State Games of America in 2017 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
