PARA SWIMMING

Eligibility:
- A full-time resident of Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island or Vermont
- A full-time student at a recognized academic institution in MA
- A registered member of a Swimming Club in Massachusetts. Athletes entering under this eligibility rule may not also be a member of a non-Massachusetts club.
Ages
Participants must be a minimum of age 8 as of June 25.
Paralympic Swimming events will be conducted as independent heats with mixed gender without regard to age.
- Athletes may enter a maximum of four (4) events
- All participants are asked to provide events and seed times (in SCY) on their registration form
- Athletes registering online should have their event and seed time information ready before they log on to register
- All events will take place on Saturday, June 25. 100 Backstroke will be after the 200 Backstroke in order of events
Below are the events offered at the Bay State Games Para Swimming Competition (all events on Saturday):
50 Free |200 Free | 100 Back | 100 Breast | 100 Fly
Course
- The meet will be in short course yards (SCY)
- Finals seeds will be based on times supplied
Rules
- No membership any swim organization is required
- USA Swimming rules apply with IPC modifications.
- USA Swimming officials will be used at all meets
- Paralympic swimmers will compete directly in the competition dates as the Swimming Finals and Masters Swimming competition.
- There are no qualifiers for Paralympic swimming.
2024 State Games of America
The 2023 Bay State Games Para Swimming competition serves as a qualifier for the 2024 State Games of America. All medalists (gold, silver, and bronze) in this event will qualify for the 2024 State Games of America in San Diego, CA.
The 2024 State Games of America will be hosted by the California State Games.
