Team Registration
For athletes who choose to compete in an event with one or more other swimmers, please have a coach or one person, submit a team event roster to a Bay State Games Synchronized Swimming Coordinator using this link
Eligibility
An athlete must meet one of the following criteria:
- A full-time resident of Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Jersey, or New York.
- A full-time student at a recognized academic institution in Massachusetts
- A registered member of a synchronized swimming club in Massachusetts for which you are entering. Athletes entering under this eligibility rule may not also be a member of a non-Massachusetts club
- Junior: Ages 12 and under
- Junior Novice: Age 12 & under
- Junior Intermediate: Ages 12 and under
- Scholastic: Ages 13 - 19
- Scholastic Intermediate: Ages 13 - 19
- Scholastic Novice: Ages 13 -19
- Open: Ages 20 - 49
- Masters: Ages 50+
Ages are determined by USSS Inc. rules (2020 minus birth year = USSS Inc. age)
*Intermediate Division: Athletes who have competed exclusively in intermediate or novice events during the 2020 season.
*Novice Division: Athletes who have competed exclusively in novice events or have no competition experience during the 2020 season.

Routine Times
*There is no minimum time limit
- Deck time: 10 seconds maximum
- Solo: 3:00 maximum
- Duet/Trio: 3:30 maximum
- Team: 4:00 maximum
- Combo: 4:00 maximum
Schedule
The specific time schedule for all events will be determined after the registration deadline. A schedule will be included in the athlete confirmation letter and posted here.
The competition will follow 2020 USSSI Rules with the following exceptions:
- USSS Inc. membership is not required to participate, unattached swimmers may enter
Each swimmer may enter up to three routines as well as the technical event. The age of the oldest competitor in a routine determines age division for each routine
2022 State Games of America hosted by Iowa Games
The 2022 Bay State Games Syncronized Swimming competition serves as a qualifier for the 2024 State Games of America. All medalists (gold, silver, and bronze) in this event will qualify for the 2024 State Games of America in San Diego, CA.
The 2024 State Games of America will be hosted by the California State Games.
