Making a Change: Adopt an Athlete Fund
For over 35 years, the Bay State Games has provided high quality and affordable athletic programming to more than 260,000 athletes across the state. We have worked hard to keep entry fees low for athletes and are thankful to our army of more than 1,000 volunteers who have made this possible for so many years. Unfortunately, though, the financial requirement to participate is still too high for some and we have fallen short of our goal of being inclusive of all athletes regardless of financial status.
So we decided to do something about it.
The Adopt an Athlete Fund was created to provide financial assistance to low income athletes and their families interested in competing in the Bay State Games. The goal is to cover the entry fee cost for individual and/or team sports so that disadvantaged athletes can compete in the Bay State Games. Each dollar donated will make an athlete’s dream of competing with the best-of-the-best in Massachusetts a reality.
Contributions can be made as a single payment or as a recurring gift. Donations are accepted in any amount. Note: gifts of $30 or more will be recognized at BayStateGames.org (below) and in our showcase sports program. Gifts of $300 or more will receive the recognition outlined above, as well as a special gift from the Bay State Games.
