Girls Volleyball Showcase took place Saturday, July 9 - Sunday, July 10 at Game On in Fitchburg

Saturday, July 9

Match 1 – Central vs West

These teams split the two sets with West winning the first 25-14 and Central making the comeback to win the second set 25-19.

Match 2 – Southeast vs Coastal

Coastal swept Southeast winning the first set with a score of 25-11 and the second set with a final score of 25-12.

Match 3 – Metro vs Northeast

Northeast swept Metro, winning the first set with a dominant performance, making the final score 25-10. Metro stayed with the Northeast team, losing the second set by much less, 25-20.

Match 4 – Central vs Metro

Central was able to win both sets against Metro. The score of the first set was 25-9 and the score of the second set was 25-20.

Match 5 – Northeast vs Southeast

Northeast won both sets against Southeast. The final score of the first set was 25-24 and the score of the second set was 25-17.

Match 6 – Coastal vs West

Coastal swept West, winning the first set at a score of 25-16 and the second set 25-17.

Match 7 – Southeast vs Central

Central won the first set in a tight battle that ended up with a score of 27-25. The second set went Southeasts’ way, with them beating Central in another close match with a score of 25-19.

Match 8 – Northeast vs Coastal

Northeast dominated this match, winning the first set 25-12 and the second set 25-14.

Match 9a – Metro vs Coastal

Coastal was able to win both sets, the first with a score of 25-15 and the second with a final score of 25-22.

Match 9b – West vs Southeast

West was victorious in the first set that had a final score of 25-18. Southeast was able to come back and win the second set with a score of 25-22.

Match 10a – Metro vs West

West swept Metro in this game, winning the first set 25-16 and the second set 25-20.

Match 10b – Central vs Northeast

Northeast continued their winning streak and remained undefeated, winning this first set 25-13 and the second set 25-21 against Central.

Sunday, July 10

Match 11 – Southeast vs Metro

Southeast won both of these sets against the Metro team, the first one had a final score of 25-17, and the second set had a final score of 25-19.

Match 12 – Northeast vs West

Northeast remained undefeated as they beat West 25-12 in the first set, and 25-13 in the second set.

Match 13 – Central vs Coastal

Coastal won they much needed last two sets with scores of 25-19 and 25-22 against Central.

Challenge 1 – West (3) vs Metro (6)

In this one set quarter-final, the third seed West beat the six seed Metro with a score of 25-11.

Challenge 2 – Southeast (4) vs Central (5)

This one set match resulted in the four seed Southeast beating the five seed Central to advance to the semi-finals.

Semifinal 1 – Coastal (2) vs West (3)

In this best 2 out of 3 playoff match, Coastal won the first two sets against West to advance to the gold medal game. The first set score was 25-22, the score of the second set was 25-22 as well.

Semifinal 2 – Northeast (1) vs Southeast (4)

Northeast won both sets to head into the gold medal game without losing a single set. The first set score was 25-17 and the score of the second set was 25-17.

Bronze Medal Game – Southeast (4) vs West (3)

Southeast won the first two sets to clinch the bronze medal. The first set ended in a score of 25-15 and the second set ended at 25-17.

Gold Medal Game – Northeast (1) vs Coastal (2)

Northeast ended the weekend as the undefeated gold medal winners. They won the first set 25-19 and won an intense second set at a final score of 26-24.
