Bay State Games Partners with Massachusetts Baseball Coaches Association

March 18, 2021
Bay State Games is excited to announce a new partnership with the Massachusetts Baseball Coaches Association. Bay State Games Baseball, supported by the Yawkey Foundation, has a long history of showcasing some of the best high school players in Massachusetts in an event well attended by college coaches from dozens of New England area schools. Many high school coaches across the state have supported Bay State Games by volunteering to serve as team coaches or providing their players with information on the competition.

The partnership will help ensure that all high school players and coaches across Massachusetts are aware of the valuable opportunities available through the Bay State Games baseball competition, especially for players looking to compete at the collegiate level. It will also shed light on the outstanding programs produced by the Massachusetts Baseball Coaches Association including coaches clinics, a Hall of Fame, All Star Games and award programs which recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions to high school baseball in Massachusetts.

“Ensuring that all high school baseball players and coaches in Massachusetts are aware of the opportunities available at the Bay State Games Baseball competition is an important goal of our organization,” said Executive Director, Kevin Cummings. “we are confident this collaboration with the MBCA will help us achieve this goal while minimizing the impact our event will have on high school coaches and teams during what will be an extended spring season in 2021 due to COVID-19.”

"The MBCA Executive Board is very excited to endorse this new, formal alliance with the Bay State Games," said Steve Freker, MBCA Executive-Secretary/Treasurer, an MBCA State Hall of Famer, and Malden HS head coach. "Having been involved with the Summer Games for over three decades now, I have seen first-hand the value Massachusetts players gain from their experiences each year. It is the one of the most heavily recruited events of the year for college and pro baseball scouts in New England and at a very low financial cost to families. It's a home run for both organizations!"
