Massachusetts Army National Guard Expands Partnership with Bay State Games
Woburn, MA – Bay State Games is proud to announce an exciting expansion of its partnership with the Massachusetts Army National Guard, which will now serve as the Presenting Sponsor of both the Wrestling and Weightlifting competitions for the 2026 Bay State Summer Games.
Building on a successful first year as the presenting sponsor of wrestling, the Massachusetts Army National Guard will return in 2026 to once again support the Bay State Games Wrestling Tournament while expanding its impact to include the Weightlifting competition. This enhanced partnership reflects a shared commitment to strength, discipline, character, and excellence in athletics across the Commonwealth.
As part of this expansion, the 2026 Bay State Games Weightlifting Competition will move to a new venue, the Massachusetts Army National Guard Readiness Center in Natick. This new location provides an exciting opportunity to elevate the competition experience for athletes, coaches, and spectators alike.
In addition to event sponsorship, the partnership will introduce new opportunities to enhance and support the Bay State Games Ambassador Program. Through increased engagement, mentorship, and on-site activations, the Massachusetts Army National Guard will play a key role in strengthening leadership development and community connection among Bay State Games participants.
The 2026 Bay State Summer Games Wrestling Competition, Presented by the Massachusetts Army National Guard, will once again feature top athletes from across the region competing for custom medals awarded to the top three finishers in each weight class. The Commander's Cup, presented by the Massachusetts Army National Guard, will also return, recognizing the top-performing club at the conclusion of the tournament.
The Massachusetts Army National Guard will maintain a strong presence across multiple Bay State Games events, providing interactive and educational activations designed to engage athletes and spectators while highlighting opportunities for personal and professional growth.
“We are thrilled to expand our partnership with the Massachusetts Army National Guard and build upon the success of last year’s collaboration,” said Bay State Games Deputy Executive Director, Alanis Tirabassi. “Their increased involvement allows us to elevate key competitions like wrestling and weightlifting while also enhancing the overall athlete experience and strengthening our Ambassador Program in meaningful ways.”
“The strength, discipline, and competitive spirit demonstrated in wrestling and weightlifting are the same qualities we build in our Soldiers every day,” said Lieutenant Colonel Brent S. Bundy. “If you’re driven to compete, push past your limits, and be part of something bigger than yourself, the Massachusetts Army National Guard offers the opportunity to serve, grow, and excel – on the mat, on the platform, and in uniform.”
