Maura Gillis Named 2023 Kristian Rose Memorial Scholarship Recipient

On May 4, Maura Gillis was awarded the Kristian Rose Memorial Scholarship at the 2023 McCormack Department of Sport Management Awards Banquet.
Maura is a sport management and operations & information management dual degree candidate at UMass Amherst expected to graduate with the class of 2024. In her time at UMass she has been a part of the Pioneer Valley Tip Off, a high school basketball showcase that is entirely student run by the McCormack Student Leaders Club. She is also a member of the Women in Sports Management club at UMass. Maura was an Operations Intern at Bay State Games during the 2022 Summer Games and is completing an internship as a Property Assistant with Learfield Sports during the 2022-23 school year. This coming summer, Maura will be working as a Marketing and Ticketing Intern at Holy Cross Athletics.
The Kristian Rose Memorial Scholarship was established by Bay State Games and UMass Amherst in memory of Kristian Rose, who was tragically killed in an auto accident during his Bay State Games internship. This scholarship is open to Sport Management students at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, with preference given to students with community service experience, and financial need.
