ISI Figure Skating

Over the last 32 years, the Bay State Winter Games Figure Skating competition has grown to become one of the most popular skating events in all of New England. Since its inception in 1985, the competition has been held at Williams College’s Lansing Chapman Skating Rink in Williamstown. The venue and the Northern Berkshire region of Massachusetts are a significant part of the overall Bay State Games Figure Skating tradition and enhance the experience of all involved in the competition.

Bay State Games is pleased to announce that the 2017 Bay State Games Figure Skating competition will once again be held at Williams College on Saturday, January 28, through Monday, January 30. While this is a deviation from our traditional Friday-through-Sunday schedule, it is the only option that will allow the Bay State Winter Games to remain in the Berkshires in 2017. All other weekends in January, February or March were either booked with a Williams College event or conflicted with a major figure skating competition. While we realize that this new format may not be the most convenient for those who travel to Williamstown from across the Commonwealth, this was the only viable option for 2017. We believe that preserving this tradition is paramount and hope that families can plan an extended stay in this beautiful region.

The effort of Williams College to make ice time available for the Bay State Winter Games while also accommodating the needs of the Williams College students and varsity athletic programs is no small task and we are extremely grateful for their support. We sincerely thank Williams College, local elected officials, our participants, coaches, judges, families, clubs, and local community members that have been longtime supporters of Bay State Games Figure Skating.

The competition announcement, new competition schedule and online registration will be released on this page in late October.
