Figure Skating: Williamstown
The 2019 USFS and ISI figure skating competition will take place on February 9-10, 2019. Williams College will host the two day event at their Lansing Chapman Skating Rink in Williamstown, MA. This is a USFS sanctioned competition and is also recognized by the ISI. In the 2018 USFS skating competition we had 209 athletes participate ranging from 5-55 years old. The ISI competition featured 131 skaters that were 5-56 years old.
Medalist in each division and event will qualify for the State Games of America (SGA) that is hosted every two years. The 2019 SGA will be in Lynchburg, VA from July 31-August 4, 2019 where athletes from across the country will compete against each other. For more information about State Games of America click here.
With the success of the Bay State Games Curling event in its inaugural year (2018), the tournament is now expanding to a three day event with six times more teams able to compete. This bonspiel will take place on March 2-3, 2019 at the Pittsfield Boys and Girls Club and is open to all clubs located in Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Vermont. There will be a women's and men's open division playing a round robin tournament with a three game minimum.
Masters Ice Hockey: North Adams
The smallest city in Massachusetts host our Masters Ice Hockey tournament for three days. This year's competition will be held March 1-3, 2019 at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Skating Rink. There are three diferent division that teams can register in: age 40+, 50+, and 60+. What's unique about our Masters Ice Hockey tournament is that it is open to everyone, regardless if they are a Massachusetts resident. Last year, seven teams of 16 players each entered the tournament with team Teddy Bear edging out team Comet for a 3-2 victory in the gold medal match.
