Eligibility: 

Athletes must also meet at least one of the criteria below:


  • A full-time resident of Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut or, New York
  • A full-time student of a Massachusetts academic institution
  • A full-time member of a Massachusetts based swimming club 
  • A registered member of U.S. Swimming in Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut or, New York

Age Groups:

Masters I: Ages 19 - 34

Masters II: Ages 35 - 49 

Masters III: Ages 50-64

Masters IV: Ages 65+ 

**Bay State Games reserves the right to combine divisions due to low registration numbers

Format

Course 

  • The meet will be in short course yards (SCY)


Seeding Information


  • A positive check-in system will be used. Athletes must check in prior to each session 
  • The meet will be swum as timed finals. 
  • All events will be swum mixed gender and slowest to fastest.
  • All events will be seeded by time and not age groups.
  • No events will swim with more than one swimmer per lane.
  • Seeds will be based on times supplied in registration


Rules


  • No membership to any swim organization is required 
  • USMS rules will apply at the meet
  • USA Swimming officials will be used at all sessions

US Masters Swimming

Recognized by New England Masters LMSC on behalf of USMS


The length of the competition course is on file with USMS. Eligibility of times achieved in this meet will be contingent upon pool length measurement and approval with USMS; if bulkheads are present, their placement must also be confirmed by measurements at the meet (USMS articles 105.1.7 and 106.2.1). 


Times are eligible for USMS Top 10 and USMS National records, but not FINA Records.


This meet will use automatic timing.


Sanctioned/Recognized by the New England LMSC for USMS, Inc.

Entry Information:

  • Athletes may enter a maximum of six (6) event
  • All participants are asked to provide events and seed times (in SCY) on their registration form
  • Athletes registering online should have their event and seed time information ready before they log on to register
  • All events are swum mixed age and mixed gender. Results are separated by age and gender.

State Games of America

The competition will serve as a last chance qualifier for the 2026 (SGA) in late July in State College, Pennsylvania AND the 2028 in Colorado Springs, CO. Athletes who win a medal at the 2026 Bay State Winter Games will receive invitations to both SGA events.
