These qualifying meets will no longer be regional meets. You may attend any ONE qualifier of your choosing based on your own availability.*
If a second session is necessary based on number of enteries warm-up would begin 30 minutes after end of session 1
Registration: 30 minute after session 1
Warm-up: 30 minutes
Session 2 will begin 15 minutes after warm up
Warm-up will begin 30 minutes after end of session 1
Warm-up is 30 minutes
Session 2 will begin 10 minutes after warm up
The top 3 finishers at each qualifier, in each division and Event, will advance to the finals. In addition, the next best 7 times (division/event) throughout ALL 3 of the qualifiers will advance. For example, potentially the breakdown of the 7 "at-large" slots could be as follows:
Worcester - 1
Quincy - 2
Regis - 4
All athletes must attend a qualifier. Athletes must swim in their age group and cannot move up.
Junior: Ages 10 - 12
Scholastic: Ages 13 - 15
Open: Ages 16 - 18
All ages are as of the date of the first qualifier
Male and Female Divisions
An athlete must meet one of the following criteria:
A full time resident of Massachusetts
A full time student of a Massachusetts academic institution
A registered member of a swimming club in Massachusetts. Athletes using club membership for eligibility may not also be a member of a non Massachusetts club.
No membership to any swim organization is required
USA Swimming rules apply at the qualifiers and finals
USA Swimming officials will be used at all meets
If you are a member of USA Swimming, please put your middle initial and date of birth on your application form so you can be properly identified with USA-S
The Bay State Games Swimming Qualifier meets are USA Swimming approved meets.
All qualifying races will be in short course yards. Finals will be in long course meters.
Seeding for the finals will be based on times achieved at the qualifiers.
Events listed below are in meters. The 400 free will be a 500 free at the qualifier. The 800 free will be a 1,000 free at the qualifier. For qualifier seed times, competitors should use their short course times for these two events
Athletes may enter a maximum of four (4) events.
All participants are asked to provide events and seed times on their registration form.
Athletes registering on line should have their event and seed time information ready before they log on to register.
