Male and Female Divisions
All ages are as of the date of the first qualifier
An athlete must meet at least one of the following criteria:
A full time resident of Massachusetts
A full time student at a recognized academic institution in Massachusetts
A registered member of a Track and Field Club in Massachusetts.
Athletes entering under this eligibility rule may not also be a member of a non Massachusetts club.

*For athletes who qualify
** If athletes enter a non-qualifying event (hammer, pole vault, 400m hurdles, and race walk) the entry fee of $25 is for the entire competition
Athletes may enter one running and two field events OR two running events and one field event
USA Track and Field rules apply to all events
USA Track and Field membership is not required to participate
If an athlete wishes to compete in an event that is not offered in their age group they may move up one division in order to compete in that event
In this instance athletes will be competing as an athlete in the older age group, they will not be scored separately
An athlete cannot move up a division if the event is offered in the division in which they are eligible
All four Bay State Games regional track and field qualifiers as well as the finals will be sanctioned meets by USA Track and Field. The sanction number for the 2015 Bay State Games Track and Field competition will be posted when it is received.
Junior, Scholastic, and Open athletes must attend a regional qualifier
Masters athletes can choose to compete in the open or master division on an event by event basis. However, athletes cannot enter the same event in more than one division. Athletes who choose to enter events as an open or master must fill out the appropriate entry form. Open athletes must attend qualifiers, while Masters athletes only participate in the finals.
