New for 2017, the Bay State Games Weightlifting competition will also serve as the New England LWC Championship. Participants in the Bay State Games who are also members of the NELWC will automatically be entered into the New England LWC championship competition. Separate awards will be given for BSG and the New England LWC championship.
In addition, Bay State Games and the NELWC will present men's and women's team awards in both competitions. '
Youth: Age 12 - 17
Junior: Age 18 - 20
Open: Age 21 - 34
Masters: Age 35+
All ages as of December 31, 2017
Athletes must meet at least one of the following criteria:
A full time resident of MA, ME, NH, RI, or VT
A full time student of an academic institution in Massachusetts
A full time member of a Massachusetts Weightlifting Club

Weigh-in 8:00am - Women's 48kg & 53kg classes; Men's under 56kg, 56kg, 62kg & 69kg classes
Weigh-in 10:30am - Women's 58kg class & Men's 77kg class
Weigh-in 12:30pm - Men's 85kg class on two platforms
Weigh-in 8:00am - Women's 63kg class & Men's 94kg class
Weigh-in 10:30am - Women's 69 kg class & Men's 105kg & +105kg classes
Weigh-in 12:30pm - Women's 75kg, 90kg classes & +90kg classes
This is a Snatch, Clean and Jerk competition with three attempts at each lift. The best Snatch, Clean and Jerk will be combined for a total score.
This will be a sanctioned competition by USA Weightlifting. Sanction #02-17-92768
USA Weightlifting Federation Rules apply to the competition
All medalists in this event will qualify for the State Games of America in 2019 at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA.
