Scholastic Athletes from New York are now eligible for the competition.
Athletes from Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and New York are eligible for the Bay State Games Wrestling competition.
Bay State Games will use the KAP Wrestling Tournament Management System
Massachusetts club championship awards will be given to wrestling clubs with highest participation and points totals
Club championship award will also be given to the out of state wrestling club with the highest participation and point total.
Any athlete who wins a gold, silver or bronze medal at the 2016 Bay State Games Wrestling competition will qualify to compete in the 2017 State Games of America in Grand Rapids, Michigan against medal winning wrestler from other state games programs nationwide.
Junior: 5th & 6th Grade
7th & 8th Grade *
*8th graders (as of the 2016-2017 academic year) may compete in the 7th/8th grade division OR the Scholastic Division but, NOT BOTH. 8th graders who intend on competing in the scholastic division must register on or before June 30 or they will only have the option of competing in the 7rth/8th grade division.
Scholastic: 9th - 11th Grade
Open: 12th Grade and athletes age 19+
Athletes in the Scholastic division must be under age 19. Athletes in the Junior division must be under age 16.
All ages are as of the first day of competition and all grades are as of the 2016 - 2017 academic year.
An athlete must meet at least one of the following criteria:
A full time resident of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, New York, Rhode Island or Vermont.
A full time student at a recognized academic institution in one of the above states
A full time member of a MA, NH, ME, NY, RI and VT based Wrestling club

The Bay State Games competition is a Folkstyle tournament
There will be satellite weigh-in locations located across Massachusetts and in neighboring states.
All medalists in this event will qualify for the State Games of America in 2017 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
