Registration Deadline 

  • No Scholastic Athletes will be accepted after July 7th 2018

  • Registration for the Open and Junior divisions will be allowed up to (and including) the day of the tournament 

Competition Highlights 

  • Scholastic Athletes from New York are now eligible for the competition.

  • Athletes from Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and New York are eligible for the Bay State Games Wrestling competition.

  • Bay State Games will use the KAP Wrestling Tournament Management System 

  • Massachusetts club championship awards will be given to wrestling clubs with highest participation and points totals 

  • Club championship award will also be given to the out of state wrestling club with the highest participation and point total. 

  • Any athlete who wins a gold, silver or bronze medal at the 2018 Bay State Games Wrestling competition will qualify to compete in the 2019 State Games of America in Lynchburg, Virginia against medal-winning wrestler from other state games programs nationwide.

Divisions

Junior:  5th & 6th Grade
                7th & 8th Grade *

*8th graders (as of the 2017-2018 academic year) may compete in the 7th/8th-grade division OR the Scholastic Division but, NOT BOTH. 8th graders who intend on competing in the scholastic division must register on or before July 7th or they will only have the option of competing in the 7th/8th-grade division.
       
Scholastic: 9th - 11th Grade
              
Open:  12th Grade and athletes age 19+

Athletes in the Scholastic division must be under age 19. Athletes in the Junior division must be under age 16. 

All ages are as of the first day of competition and all grades areas of the 2017 - 2018 academic year.

Eligibility 

An athlete must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • A full-time resident of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, New York, Rhode Island or Vermont.

  • A full-time student at a recognized academic institution in one of the above states 

  • A full-time member of an MA, NH, ME, NY, RI or VT-based Wrestling club

The Bay State Games competition is a Folkstyle tournament 

Scholastic Only Weigh-In Sites

There will be satellite weigh-in locations located across Massachusetts and in neighboring states.

State Games of America

All medalists in this event will qualify for the State Games of America in 2019 at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA.
