2021 Boys Ice Hockey Showcase Recap

Boys Ice Hockey Showcase took place Thursday, July 8 - Sunday, July 11 at New England Sports Center in Marlborough
Game 1 - Metro/Northeast v. Southeast/Coastal
In the opening game of the 2021 BSG Boys Ice Hockey Showcase, Metro/Northeast and Southeast/Coastal battled to a 4-4 tie. Mason Travassos (#13) tallied a hat trick for Metro/Northeast.
Game 2 - West v. Central
Dylan Seymour (#16) helped the Central squad secure a 7-4 win over West with a hat trick. Central player Jimmy O’Keefe (#10) also had 2 goals and an assist in the loss.
Game 3 - Metro/Northeast v. West
In a back and forth, penalty-filled game, Metro/Northeast and West skated to a 2-2 tie. Metro/Northeast was close to securing a 2-1 win before West player Danny Stefanik (#18) scored for West with just under 3 minutes left in the 3rd period.
Game 4 - Central v. Southeast/Coastal
Despite chippy play, Southeast/Coastal was able to capitalize on man-up situations leading them to a 4-2 win over Central.
Game 5 - Southeast/Coastal v. West
Defenseman Will Blakley (#15) controlled the game from the blue line while also contributing offensively with 2 goals in Southeast/Coastal’s 8-1 win over West.
Game 6 - Metro/Northeast v. Central
Metro/Northeast jumped out to a 3-0 lead before Central cut the deficit to 2.
Metro/Northeast was able to hang on for the 3-1 victory.
Bronze Game - Central v. West
Central was able to secure the Bronze medal, and their first win of the weekend, beating the West squad by a score of 4-3 in a very up and down game.
Gold Game - Metro/Northeast v. Southeast/Coastal
After only scoring one goal in the 1st period, Southeast/Coastal began to capitalize on their opportunities scoring 5 goals in the 2nd and an additional in the 3rd. They were able to return home with the Gold medal after blanking Northeast/Coastal 7-0 to conclude the 2021 Boys Ice Hockey Showcase.
