2021 Girls Soccer Showcase Recap

Girls Soccer Showcase took place Saturday, July 10 - Sunday, July 11 at Veterans Field Complex in Waltham
After heavy rain cancelled all games on the first day of the tournament, teams were ready to play on Saturday.
Game 1 - West v. Northeast
Northeast was off to a good start, holding off the West team in a 3-2 victory.
Game 2 - Coastal v. Southeast

Game 3 - Northeast v. Southeast
The Northeast team in blue combined for 4 goals in the first half and an additional 2 in the second half. Southeast was unable to convert and fell to Northeast 7-1. 2 out of the 7 goals were scored by Veronica Ortega Pulgarin (#6) hailing from Saugus, MA.
Game 4 - Coastal v. West
After 90 minutes of play, the team from the West was able to walk away with a 4-1 win over team Coastal. Scoring 2 goals in each half, the offense of the West was able to shine as 4 different players were credited with the tallies.
Game 5 - West v. Southeast
The West team had an offensive breakthrough led by F/M Kayla McGrath (#16) who recorded 4 goals out of the teams total 6. Southeast held their own but fell to West by a score of 6-1.

Gold Medal Game - West v. Northeast
In a thrilling game that took penalty kicks to decide a winner, Northeast wrapped up their tournament by going undefeated and beating West 2-1.
