Friday July 18


Game 1


Northeast Comeback Runs Out Of Steam Against Central


Northeast couldn't quite finish off a comeback against Central, falling 51-45 on Friday. Central led by as many as 22 points before hanging on for the win.


Despite the loss, Peyton DiBiasio had a solid game with 26 points for Northeast.


Trailing 24-21, Central went on an 18-point run to take the lead. Northeast had a promising first half, taking a 24-21 lead into halftime, but couldn't hold on for the victory.


The fourth quarter was the best for Northeast as they outscored Central 19-10. DiBiasio scored 11 points in the quarter.


DiBiasio knocked down six shots from beyond the arc for Northeast. Kaitlyn Hashem (7 points), Tessa Andriano (5 points), Shea Tassinari (3 points), Sophia Gallivan (2 points), and Madilyn Halmen (2 points) also pitched in for Northeast.


Akosua Adu-Gyamfi was the leading scorer for Central with eight points. Adu-Gyamfi hit two threes for Central. Mia Ducos (7 points), Alicia Stone (7 points), Elizabeth Bennington Lynch (6 points), Lillian Denomme (6 points), Kathleen Galvin (5 points), Camryn Kinne (3 points), Maria Fox (3 points), and Claire Acocelli (2 points) helped out Central as well.


Game 2


Emersynn Cage Lead West Past Metro


A strong performance from Emersynn Cage, helped West defeat Metro, 54-31, on Friday. Cage scored 15 points to lead the way for West.


The game was tied at 2 when West went on a 16-point run to take the lead. West got out to a 45-22 lead at halftime before closing out the victory.


West bested Metro 23-8 in the first quarter, their strongest of the game.


Cage hit two threes for West. Lauren Cross (11 points), Taryn Carriveau (10 points), Taylor Bullough (4 points), River Seagrave (4 points), Kate Phillips (4 points), Lacey Bermudez-Lizardi (3 points), Noelani Santiago (2 points), and Katie Gilhooly (1 point) also pitched in for West.


Linda Sheng was the leading scorer for Metro with 10 points. Also contributing for Metro were Cailynne Tyler (8 points), Emilia Maria-Babcock (5 points), Kiara Collins (4 points), Regan Antonelli (2 points), and Nell Sparks (2 points).


Game 3


Linda Sheng Lead Metro Past Central


Linda Sheng scored 18 points to lead Metro past Central, 64-52, on Friday.


Leading 36-24, Metro went on a 7-point run to pull further away. Metro got out to a 41-24 lead at halftime before closing out the victory.


Metro controlled the first quarter, outscoring Central 18-8.


Sheng, Cailynne Tyler, and Regan Antonelli each hit multiple three-pointers for Metro. Nell Sparks (14 points), Antonelli (8 points), Kiara Collins (7 points), Emilia Maria-Babcock (7 points), Tyler (6 points), and Bailey Ferguson (2 points) helped out Metro as well.


Mia Ducos was the leading scorer for Central with 12 points. Akosua Adu-Gyamfi, Camryn Kinne, Ducos, and Claire Acocelli each hit multiple three-pointers for Central. Additional scorers for Central included Alicia Stone (11 points), Lillian Denomme (7 points), Adu-Gyamfi (6 points), Kinne (6 points), Acocelli (6 points), Kathleen Galvin (3 points), Maya Lewis (2 points), and Elizabeth Bennington Lynch (1 point).


Game 4


Southeast/Coastal Sneak Past Northeast


Southeast/Coastal narrowly defeated Northeast, 45-43, on Friday.


Southeast/Coastal trailed 21-10 at one point in the game before mounting their comeback.


Trailing 8-7, Northeast went on an 11-point run to take the lead. Southeast/Coastal captured the win despite trailing 25-18 at halftime.


Southeast/Coastal controlled the fourth quarter, outscoring Northeast 15-10.


Josslyn Mantoni led Southeast/Coastal in scoring with 14 points. Mallorie Peterson knocked down four shots from beyond the arc for Southeast/Coastal. Additional scorers for Southeast/Coastal included Peterson (12 points), Mya Knowles (8 points), Eden Murray (7 points), and Sophia Forrester (4 points).


Peyton DiBiasio led Northeast in scoring with 14 points. DiBiasio knocked down two shots from beyond the arc for Northeast. Additional scorers for Northeast included Hannah Frew (9 points), Shea Tassinari (8 points), Kaitlyn Hashem (4 points), Dominique Breton (3 points), Madilyn Halmen (3 points), and Tessa Andriano (2 points).

Game 5


Metro Beat Southeast/Coastal Thanks To Nell Sparks


Metro past Southeast/Coastal, 49-23, on Saturday as Nell Sparks scored 16 points.


Leading 22-16, Metro went on a 17-point run to pull further away. Metro had a strong first half, leading 31-16 at halftime and never looked back, securing the victory.


Sparks poured in 12 points in the second quarter as Metro outscored Southeast/Coastal 23-2.


Also contributing for Metro were Linda Sheng (10 points), Emilia Maria-Babcock (9 points), Kiara Collins (7 points), Maya Fu (3 points), Katerin Landaverde (2 points), and Cailynne Tyler (2 points).


Mallorie Peterson was the leading scorer for Southeast/Coastal with nine points. Peterson knocked down three shots from beyond the arc for Southeast/Coastal. Also contributing for Southeast/Coastal were Eden Murray (8 points), Mya Knowles (4 points), and Kylie O’Brien (2 points).


Game 6


West Win Hard Fought Contest Against Central


West defeated Central, 65-50, in a back-and-forth game on Saturday. There were eight lead changes in the game.


Taryn Carriveau scored 15 points to lead West.


The game was tied at 32 when West went on a 10-point run to take the lead. West had a strong first half, leading 34-32 at halftime and never looked back, securing the victory.


West bested Central 22-3 in the third quarter, their strongest of the game.


Katie Gilhooly, Aubrie Jodoin, Emersynn Cage, and River Seagrave each hit multiple three-pointers for West. Also contributing for West were Cage (13 points), Jodoin (12 points), Gilhooly (7 points), Seagrave (6 points), Kate Phillips (5 points), Taylor Bullough (4 points), and Lauren Cross (3 points).


Lillian Denomme led Central in scoring with 16 points. Akosua Adu-Gyamfi (7 points), Camryn Kinne (5 points), Kathleen Galvin (5 points), Maria Fox (5 points), Alicia Stone (3 points), Madelyn Hogan (2 points), Mia Ducos (2 points), and Claire Acocelli (2 points) helped out Central as well.

Taryn Carriveau Carries West To Victory Over Southeast/Coastal


West past Southeast/Coastal, 71-52, on Saturday as Taryn Carriveau scored 34 points.


Leading 27-24, West went on a 13-1 run to pull further away. West had a strong first half, leading 36-25 at halftime and never looked back, securing the victory. Leading 56-46, West went on a 10-point run to pull further away.


West played particularly well in the second quarter, outscoring Southeast/Coastal 19-11.


Carriveau and Lauren Cross each hit multiple three-pointers for West. Additional scorers for West included Cross (23 points), Kate Phillips (6 points), Katie Gilhooly (3 points), Noelani Santiago (3 points), and Emersynn Cage (2 points).


Kylie O’Brien was the leading scorer for Southeast/Coastal with 15 points. Mya Knowles (13 points), Josslyn Mantoni (10 points), Eden Murray (9 points), Sophia Forrester (7 points), and Mallorie Peterson (1 point) also pitched in for Southeast/Coastal.


Game 8


Big Game From Peyton DiBiasio Not Enough As Northeast Fall To Metro


Peyton DiBiasio scored 14 points, but Northeast still fell to Metro, 49-41, on Saturday.


The game was tied at 16 when Metro went on an 11-2 run to take the lead. Leading 32-29, Metro went on an 8-point run to pull further away.


The first quarter was the best for Northeast, as they outscored Metro 9-7.


DiBiasio hit two threes for Northeast. Also contributing for Northeast were Sophia Gallivan (8 points), Madilyn Halmen (6 points), Shea Tassinari (4 points), Hannah Frew (3 points), Kaitlyn Hashem (3 points), and Tessa Andriano (3 points).


Nell Sparks was the leading scorer for Metro with 20 points. Additional scorers for Metro included Linda Sheng (14 points), Kiara Collins (8 points), Cailynne Tyler (6 points), and Emilia Maria-Babcock (1 point).


Sunday July 20


Game 9


West Battle Hard In Loss To Northeast


West fell to Northeast, 61-54, in a back-and-forth game on Sunday. There were 12 lead changes in the game.


West faced a tough challenge, as they fell behind by 13 points 45-32, but never gave up and tried to mount a comeback.


Trailing 29-26, Northeast went on a 13-point run to take the lead. West had a strong start to the game, leading 29-28 at halftime, but couldn't keep up the momentum and ultimately fell short.


West bested Northeast 20-14 in the fourth quarter, their strongest of the game.


Taryn Carriveau was the leading scorer for West with 13 points. Carriveau, Noelani Santiago, and Lauren Cross each hit multiple three-pointers for West. Additional scorers for West included Kate Phillips (12 points), Taylor Bullough (10 points), Cross (8 points), Santiago (6 points), Emersynn Cage (4 points), and Lacey Bermudez-Lizardi (1 point).


Peyton DiBiasio scored 11 points to lead Northeast. Madilyn Halmen and DiBiasio each hit multiple three-pointers for Northeast. Game 10


Central Sneak Past Southeast/Coastal


Central narrowly defeated Southeast/Coastal, 62-58, on Sunday.


Central held on for the win after building an 11-point lead at 62-51.


Central fell behind 34-32 at halftime before claiming victory in the end. Leading 55-51, Central went on a 7-point run to pull further away.


The third quarter was the best for Central, as they outscored Southeast/Coastal 18-8.


Camryn Kinne was the leading scorer for Central with 12 points. Mia Ducos and Kinne each hit multiple three-pointers for Central. Additional scorers for Central included Ducos (9 points), Alicia Stone (8 points), Kathleen Galvin (7 points), Billie Whittle (6 points), Madelyn Hogan (6 points), Maya Lewis (4 points), Lillian Denomme (4 points), Akosua Adu-Gyamfi (2 points), Claire Acocelli (2 points), and Elizabeth Bennington Lynch (2 points).


Eden Murray was the leading scorer for Southeast/Coastal with 18 points. Mallorie Peterson, Mya Knowles, and Kylie O’Brien each hit multiple three-pointers for Southeast/Coastal. Additional scorers for Southeast/Coastal included Sophia Forrester (15 points), Peterson (11 points), Knowles (6 points), O’Brien (6 points), and Josslyn Mantoni (2 points).




Bronze Game


Alicia Stone Lead Central Past Southeast/Coastal


Alicia Stone scored 13 points to lead Central past Southeast/Coastal, 48-32, on Sunday.


The game was tied at 19 when Central went on a 16-point run to take the lead. The game was tied at 19 at halftime before Central pulled out the victory in the second half.


Central bested Southeast/Coastal 19-3 in the third quarter, their strongest of the game.


Elizabeth Bennington Lynch (8 points), Mia Ducos (7 points), Camryn Kinne (6 points), Lillian Denomme (5 points), Kathleen Galvin (4 points), Madelyn Hogan (3 points), and Claire Acocelli (2 points) helped out Central as well.


Mallorie Peterson led Southeast/Coastal in scoring with nine points. Peterson hit three threes for Southeast/Coastal. Sophia Forrester (7 points), Mya Knowles (5 points), Josslyn Mantoni (4 points), Kylie O’Brien (4 points), and Eden Murray (3 points) also pitched in for Southeast/Coastal.


Gold Game


Linda Sheng Lead Metro Past West


Linda Sheng scored 20 points to lead Metro past West, 59-46, on Sunday.


Metro got out to a 32-21 lead at halftime before closing out the victory. Leading 34-26, Metro went on a 12-point run to pull further away.


The second quarter was the best for Metro, as they outscored West 18-9.


Nell Sparks (14 points), Emilia Maria-Babcock (10 points), Cailynne Tyler (5 points), Maya Fu (3 points), Regan Antonelli (3 points), Kiara Collins (2 points), and Bailey Ferguson (2 points) helped out Metro as well.

Fall edition of the B.A.A. Gives Back Grant Program awards $125,000 to local non-profit organizations

The Bay State Games has selected six statewide scholarship recipients for the 2025 Future Leaders Scholarship Program. These student-athletes were selected from a large applicant pool after a process that included committee reviews of all applications and virtual interviews with selected applicants. These future leaders were selected based on their achievements and involvement in academics, community service, athletics, and leadership roles. The Bay State Games Future Leaders Scholarship program was established in 1989 and has since distributed nearly $400,000 in financial aid. Each of these high school seniors will receive a $1,000 scholarship for their first year of college. “Bay State Games is proud to continue the Future Leaders Scholarship program which since 1989 has provided over $400,000 in aid to support the continuing education of outstanding young leaders." said Kevin Cummings, Executive Director of the Bay State Games. “These well deserving student-athletes have excelled in the classroom, on the field and in the community, representing a variety of schools, sports and regions across Massachusetts” This year’s six scholarship recipients are Elyse Bissada, Brooke Blahut, Abigail Howie, Olivia Laaper, Sabina Mackechnie, Molly McIntyre. Elyse Bissada is a senior at Dover-Sherborn High School, where she is a four-year varsity field hockey and track & field athlete, as well as the team captain for both sports. In 2025, Elyse was a member of the Bay State Games Southeast field hockey team where she won a gold medal. Elyse is the founder of the Veterinary Medicine Club at her school and in her free time volunteers at local farms and Animal Rescue Leagues across the state. Elyse has committed to play field hockey and study biology at Hamilton College, where she plans to pursue veterinary medicine and ultimately establish an affordable low-cost clinic that serves her community. Brooke Blahut is a senior at North Quincy High School where she is a 4-year varsity member of the soccer team, and captain of the varsity ice hockey team. Brooke is also a well accomplished figure skater. She began skating at age 2 at Winterland Skating School and is now a U.S. Figure Skating Gold Medalist. Brooke has participated in Bay State Games annually since 2016, medaled 6 times, and is a 4-year Bay State Games High School Ambassador. Brooke is also the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) Ambassador for NQHS. Brooke is Vice President of her class, a member of the National Honor Society and Science National Honor Society and academically ranks in the top 5% of her class with a 4.6 GPA. Brooke is a two-time team leader and participant in the FBI Teen Leadership Academy and plans to pursue her master’s in forensic science and criminology and become an FBI Special Agent. Abigail Howie is a senior at Wilmington High School, where she is on the varsity soccer team and is captain of the Winter and Spring Track teams. Abigail serves as President of Student Council and the Wildcat Service Council, where she founded the “Bridging Generations” community initiative. She is a member of the National Honor Society, DECA, and Best Buddies. Abigail coaches a Wilmington fourth-grade team and is a USSF-certified soccer referee. She has most recently created an Alzheimer's Awareness community service project for her senior year. She hopes to continue her athletic career in college while studying sports management and marketing. Olivia Laaper resides in Stow and is a senior at Fusion Academy in Burlington. Laaper has been a captain of multiple high school sports teams including Track & Field and Swimming. Olivia is captain of her archery team at Riverside Archers and has won multiple medals in archery at Bay State Games and state competitions. Beyond athletics, Olivia has gained hands-on experience in emergency medicine as a high school intern with Pro EMS and plans to take her EMT certification this fall. She gives back to her community by lifeguarding and coaching youth swimming at Goldfish Swim School, volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters and at local food banks. In college, Olivia plans to pursue a degree in nursing with a minor in emergency medicine and psychology. Sabina Mackechnie is a senior at East Longmeadow High School where she is a three sport athlete and captain in Soccer, Basketball and Lacrosse. She has earned all-league and second-team All-Western Mass honors in soccer and lacrosse. Sabina has been a By State Games Ambassador for two years and is a member of her school's Athletic Leadership Council and Pink Ribbon Club. Sabina participates in canned food drives and fundraisers for her school sports teams. Sabina will continue her lacrosse career at Springfield College while pursuing a degree in Education. Molly McIntyre is a senior at Norton High School where she is a three-sport captain in cross country, basketball, and outdoor track, earning multiple TVL All-Star honors, and MVP awards. Molly serves in key leadership roles on Student Council, DECA, Best Buddies, and five National Honor Societies. She volunteers at local youth sports programs, community events, and the MSG Gregory Trent Foundation. Molly works part-time at a donut shop and local ice cream store.
