Bay State Games Inducts Three Into Hall of Fame

Longtime sport commissioners join past MLB, NBA, NHL and Olympians with Bay State Games ties.
WOBURN – Sport commissioners, Donna Rozon (figure skating), Louis Matnog (pistol shooting), and Bill Good (rugby) have been selected for induction into the 2022 Bay State Games’ Hall of Fame. The inductees received their award at a pre-game ceremony at Fenway Park on July 7 prior to the Red Sox game against the New York Yankees.
DONNA ROZON - FIGURE SKATING
Donna is from Natick Massachusetts and has served as a commissioner for the Bay State Games Figure Skating competition for 20 years. Donna is a member of the International Skating Institute and has received recognition awards from the organization in 2009 and 2019. Donna has coached for over 40 years and has led teams to gold medals at the State Games of America and ISI World Championships.
LOUIS MATNOG - PISTOL SHOOTING
Louis has served as Commissioner of the Bay State Games Sport Pistol competition for two decades. He currently serves as head coach of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sport Pistol Team and the Massachusetts Rifle Association Junior Pistol Team. Louis is a coach at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs and has helped develop many members of the USA Shooting National Team which competes in international and Olympic competitions.
BILL GOOD - RUGBY
Bill brought the sport of Rugby to Bay State Games over 10 years ago and has served as sport commissioner ever since. He founded the Massachusetts Youth Rugby Organization (MYRO) and served as president for 10 years. Bill led the effort to have the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association recognize rugby as a varsity sport. He is also a delegate to USA Ruby for high school and youth sport development.
The Bay State Games Hall of Fame was created to recognize past participants who have gone on to prestigious and successful athletic careers, as well as former and current coaches, officials, sports organizers, and volunteers who have made significant contributions to the organization throughout its 38-year history. Past inductees among the over 60 previous honorees include the NBA’s Dana Barros (`06), Tom Thibodeau ('17) and the late Reggie Lewis (`02); WNBA’s Rebecca Lobo (’03), the NHL’s Bill Guerin ('09) and Keith Yandle ('14); Major League Baseball’s Carlos Pena ('11) and Rich Hill ('13); Olympians Nancy Kerrigan ('07), Jim Pedro (’04) and Bill Cleary ('14) as well as US Paralympic Gold Medalist Joe Lemar (’15).
