BSG 40 - BSG 25th Anniversary (2006)
25 years! The year was 2006 and Bay State Games was celebrating it's silver anniversary.
Opening Ceremonies to mark the games took place at Agganis Arena at Boston University on Thursday, July 13, 2006. The keynote speaker was notable BU hockey player, Travis Roy
With tryouts taking place throughout the month of June, the finals were July 10-23 at venues all across Massachusetts: Wakefield, Devens, Marlborough, Cambridge, Foxborough, Reading, Roxbury, Sharon, Boston, Franklin, and Lowell.
All these venues were needed for the 24 sports taking place that summer: archery, badminton, baseball, basketball, baton twirling, diving, fencing, field hockey, 6v6 field hockey, gymnastics, ice hockey, judo, juniors basketball, lacrosse, shooting, soccer, 7v7 soccer, softball, swimming, synchronized swimming, table tennis, tennis, track & field, volleyball, and wrestling.
