WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. (January 18, 2023)
– Bay State Games presented the Berkshire Hero Award to a staunch supporter of the Bay State Winter Games on January 14, the first since 2020. The 2023 award recipient is Cheri Erbin Archambault from Christmas Brook Figure Skating Club. Cheri received her award during the Bay State Skate Figure Skating Show, which took place at Lansing Chapman Rink on the campus of Williams College on Saturday, January 14.
Cheri Erbin Archambault became President of Christmas Brook Figure Skating Club in 2021 when the rink and club reopened after the pandemic. She first became involved with Christmas Brook Figure Skating Club as a skater at age 8, then stayed part of the club as a coach, Test Chairman, Learn to Skate Director, and now President. Cheri's first Bay State Games was in 1989 as a coach. She started a Production Team that was featured in the Bay State Games Show. Her favorite BSG memory is the year Nancy Kerrigan and Paul Wylie were guest feature performers in the Bay State Skate Show. When Cheri is not at the rink she works in the Special Education Department of a local technical high school.
The Berkshire Hero Award was created in 2008 to recognize individuals, businesses, facilities, and organizations within Berkshire County that go above and beyond to ensure that the Bay State Winter Games are a success.
