Northeast Opens The Showcase With A Statement Over Metro


Northeast won in a dominant 11-3 fashion over Metro to kick off the showcase on Monday morning.

At Maplewood Park, Southeast defeats Coastal 6-3 in a hard-fought matchup.

West couldn't keep up with Central and fell 9-1 on Monday at Howard Park.


Central got on the board in the top of the second inning after Patrick Saucier walked, and Zachary Deptula grounded into a fielder's choice, each scoring one run.


Noah Amaral pitched four innings in relief for West. The reliever surrendered nine hits and seven runs while striking out five and walking three. Canyon Charron started the game for West. The starting pitcher surrendered one hit and two runs over three innings, striking out two and walking five. Ryan Nikiforow stepped on the bump first for Central. The hurler allowed two hits and one run over four innings, striking out five and walking one.


Isaiah Gomez led West with one run batted in. Gomez went 1-for-3 on the day. Gomez, Jack Stathatos, and Jack Abel each collected one hit for West. West turned one double play in the game.


Central accumulated 10 hits in the game. Jack Maude and Liam Doyle each collected two hits for Central. Maude led Central with two runs batted in. Maude went 2-for-3 on the day. Anthony Moura led Central with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating eight walks for the game. Maude stole three bases. Central stole six bases in the game. Central turned two double plays in the game.

Metro Earns First Win In Defensive Showdown Against Coastal 


In the lowest scoring game of the day, two teams out for redemption after losing earlier in the morning fought hard for their first win. Ultimately, Metro came out on top 3-2.

Southeast Defeated Afters Consistent Performance Throughout By West

Southeast had trouble keeping up with West in a 14-4 loss on Monday at Howard Park.


Southeast were the first to get on the board in the first when Chuck Hamer grounded out, scoring one run.


West made the score 4-1 in the top of the second after Joseph Breguet doubled, scoring two runs, Kyle Kaczuwka doubled, scoring one run, and Isaiah Gomez singled, scoring one run.


West added one run in the third after Samuel Torres doubled to center field.


Anthony Maturo pitched four innings in relief for Southeast. The reliever gave up 12 hits and nine runs while striking out two and walking two. Mason White began the game for Southeast. The pitcher surrendered seven hits and five runs over three innings, striking out three and walking two. Matteo Cuccovia began the game for West. The hurler allowed seven hits and three runs over four innings, striking out five and walking two.


Southeast collected 12 hits in the game. Sean Lundrigan went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Southeast in hits. Henry Healey and Lundrigan each drove in one run for Southeast. Hamer collected two hits for Southeast in four at bats. 


West collected 19 hits in the game. Brandon Carillon, Jack Stathatos, and Gomez each collected three hits for West. Gomez and Peter Szenda each drove in three runs for West. Jesse Thompson and Kaczuwka each collected multiple hits for West. West turned one double play in the game.

Offense Hard To Come By In Northeast Defeat To Coastal

Both teams were strong on the mound on Tuesday, but Coastal was just a little bit stronger at the plate in their 3-1 victory over Northeast. Aidan Bligh started the game for Northeast and recorded 18 outs.


Coastal got on the board in the second inning after an error scored one run.


Coastal committed an error, which helped Northeast tie the game at one in the top of the third.


In the bottom of the fifth, Coastal broke up the tie when Levon Mulready tripled, scoring one run. Then a single by James Alfieri followed to extend the lead to 3-1.


Bligh led things off on the bump for Northeast. The hurler surrendered nine hits and three runs (two earned) over six innings, striking out eight and walking three. Mulready led things off on the mound for Coastal. The hurler gave up six hits and one run (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out four and walking three.


Michael Phelps and Giacomo Berardinelli III each collected two hits for Northeast.


Mulready, Jason Cunningham, Brock Winslow, and Cash Finn each collected two hits for Coastal. Mulready, Domenic Toto, and Alfieri each drove in one run for Coastal.

Central Beats Metro And Comes Away With Second Double-Digit Performance

Central won big over Metro 10-2 on Tuesday at Maplewood Park.


Central got on the board in the second inning after Brady Wajda singled, scoring one run.


Willem Haker homered to center field, scoring two runs in the top of the third for Central.


Cody Veneziano stepped on the bump first for Central. The starter gave up seven hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out three and walking five.


Central collected 15 hits in the game. Haker drove the middle of the lineup, leading Central with three runs batted in. The number three hitter went 2-for-5 on the day. Noah Smith, Haker, and Trevor Ewing each collected two hits for Central. Central turned three double plays in the game.


Devon Milonopoulos, Jacob Gisetto, Ryan Beach, Ryan McMahon, Travers Moodie, Nick Santonastaso, and Anthony Capalino each collected one hit for Metro. Davante Layne and Capalino each drove in one run for Metro. Metro turned two double plays in the game.

Southeast and Central tied 5-5 on Tuesday at Howard Park.


Southeast opened the scoring in the second after Mason White singled, scoring two runs.


Central tied the game in the bottom of the sixth thanks to a double by Ryan Nikiforow, a single by Dylan Diosomito, and a single by Caden Green.


Chuck Hamer stepped on the mound first for Southeast. The pitcher gave up 11 hits and five runs over five and one-third innings, striking out four and walking one. Jack Maude stepped on the mound first for Central. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and three runs over four innings, striking out seven and walking four.


Southeast piled up 10 hits in the game. White, Nikhil Siano, and Sean Lundrigan each collected two hits for Southeast. White and Jack Therrien each drove in two runs for Southeast. Adrian Alviarez paced Southeast with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game. Southeast turned one double play in the game.


Central tallied 11 hits in the game. Anthony Moura, Trevor Ewing, Nikiforow, Tommy Kursonis, Green, Jacob MacDonald, Noah Smith, Maude, Bryce Everson, Willem Haker, and Diosomito each collected one hit for Central. West Grabs Lead Late For Victory Over Coastal

West beat Coastal 5-4 on Tuesday after taking the lead late in the game. West were down 4-3 in the bottom of the sixth inning when Kyle Kaczuwka doubled, scoring two runs.


Coastal opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two singles. Coastal first got on the board when Levon Mulready singled, scoring one run.


Coastal added one run in the second after Mulready singled down the right field line.


West tied the game up in the bottom of the fifth thanks to two singles. West tied the game at three on a single by Noah Amaral.


Coastal took the lead in the top of the sixth. A wild pitch scored one run, to give Coastal the upper hand, 4-3.


Logan Millet opened the game for West. The hurler allowed nine hits and four runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking one. Cash Finn opened the game for Coastal. The starter surrendered 14 hits and five runs over six innings, striking out two and walking four. Amaral tossed one and one-third innings of zero-run ball for West in relief. The pitcher gave up zero hits, striking out one and walking two.


West collected 14 hits in the game. Kaczuwka went 4-for-4 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Jack Stathatos and Cam Charron each collected multiple hits for West. 


Mulready drove the middle of the lineup, leading Coastal with two runs batted in. The number three hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Mulready, Evan Szumylo, and Finn each collected two hits for Coastal. Coastal turned two double plays in the game.

Southeast Go Down On Final Play Against Northeast

A walk-off left Southeast on the wrong end of an 11-10 defeat to Northeast on Tuesday at Maplewood Park. The game was tied at 10 in the bottom of the sixth when Michael Phelps singled, scoring one run.


Despite the loss, Southeast did collect 15 hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Northeast had 17 hits on the way to victory.


Southeast opened the scoring in the first after Sean Lundrigan doubled, scoring one run.


Northeast captured the lead, 3-1, in the bottom of the first when Engel Thomas scored after tagging up, and Dylan DiFilippo singled, scoring two runs.


Southeast took the lead, 5-3, in the top of the second thanks to singles by Max McPhillips, Adrian Alviarez, and Anthony Maturo.


A double by Nikhil Siano, and a walk by Mason White helped Southeast extend their early lead in the third.


Northeast flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the third, scoring seven runs on seven hits to take the lead, 10-8. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Griffin Graham that drove in two.


Lundrigan doubled down the left field line, which helped Southeast tie the game at 10 in the top of the fourth.


In the bottom of the sixth inning, Northeast went back into the lead after Jack Pennacchia singled to center field, and Phelps singled to center field, each scoring one run.


Nicholas Fantini stepped on the mound first for Southeast. The starter gave up eight hits and 10 runs over two and one-third innings, striking out one and walking six. Graham stepped on the mound first for Northeast. The starter gave up 10 hits and eight runs (seven earned) over two and one-third innings, striking out two and walking one.


Southeast collected 15 hits in the game. Lundrigan drove the middle of the lineup, leading Southeast with three runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Leadoff hitter Alviarez led Southeast with three hits in four at bats. Siano and McPhillips each collected multiple hits for Southeast. Maturo stole two bases.


Northeast tallied 17 hits in the game. Aidan Bligh and DiFilippo each collected three hits for Northeast. DiFilippo led Northeast with four runs batted in. The infielder went 3-for-3 on the day. Phelps, Thomas, and Matthew Tracy each collected multiple hits for Northeast. Pennacchia led Northeast with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating eight walks for the game.

Metro opened the scoring in the first after Travers Moodie drew a walk, scoring one run.


Southeast captured the lead, 3-1, in the bottom of the first when Sean Lundrigan hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and Grady Green doubled, scoring two runs.


A ground out by Nathaniel Tiani extended the Southeast lead to 4-1 in the bottom of the second inning.


Metro jumped back into the lead in the top of the fourth inning after Moodie doubled down the left field line, and Liam Powers hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.


Adrian Alviarez pitched three and one-third innings in relief for Southeast. The hurler gave up four hits and four runs (two earned) while striking out three and walking two. Nikhil Siano led things off on the hill for Southeast. The starter allowed three hits and three runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out none and walking eight. David Ruane led things off on the hill for Metro. The starter surrendered two hits and four runs over four innings, striking out two and walking five.


Green went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Green and Chuck Hamer each collected one hit for Southeast. Southeast had patience at the plate, accumulating eight walks for the game. Jack Therrien and Jake Maturo led the team with two free passes each. Southeast turned two double plays in the game.


Ruane set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Metro with two hits in three at bats. Moodie led Metro with two runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-1 on the day. West added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Matteo Cuccovia tripled to center field, and Kyle Kaczuwka singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.


West added one run in the third after Joseph Breguet walked.


Northeast tied the game in the bottom of the fourth thanks to a single by Christopher Chiodo, and a ground out by Dylan McDermott.


Breguet started on the mound for West. The pitcher surrendered six hits and four runs over seven innings, striking out six and walking three. Michael Phelps led things off on the mound for Northeast. The hurler allowed 11 hits and four runs over seven innings, striking out three and walking two.


West tallied 11 hits in the game. Cuccovia, Kaczuwka, and Charron each collected two hits for West. Cuccovia, Kaczuwka, and Charron each drove in one run for West. Peter Szenda stole two bases. West ran wild on the base paths, amassing eight stolen bases for the game. 


Julian Rodriguez, Phelps, Engel Thomas, Matthew Tracy, Dylan DiFilippo, and Chiodo each collected one hit for Northeast. Aidan Bligh, McDermott, and Chiodo each drove in one run for Northeast. Rodriguez stole two bases. Northeast turned one double play in the game.

Even though Coastal collected nine hits to Central's eight, they still fell 5-1 on Wednesday at Howard Park. Cash Finn led Coastal with two hits.


Central got on the board in the first inning after Willem Haker tripled, scoring one run.


Central added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Haker was struck by a pitch, Anthony Moura grounded out, and Patrick Saucier doubled to center field, each scoring one run.


Domenic Toto started the game for Coastal. The starting pitcher surrendered five hits and four runs over three innings, striking out two and walking one. Jason Bolduc stepped on the bump first for Central. The hurler surrendered nine hits and one run over six and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking none.


Finn went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in.


Haker provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Central with two runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 1-for-1 on the day. Trevor Ewing and Saucier each collected two hits for Central.

Central Wins Gold Against West Behind Strong Performance From Bryce Everson

Bryce Everson struck out 10 batters as the pitcher led Central past West 10-1 on Wednesday. Everson surrendered three hits and one run over five innings while walking two.


Central won thanks in part to six runs in the second inning.  Jason Bolduc grounded out, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Jack Maude singled, scoring two runs, Anthony Moura tripled, scoring one run, and Everson singled, scoring one run.


Central added one run in the third. Tommy Kursonis stole home, making the score 7-0.


Jack Madsen stepped on the mound first for West. The starter allowed eight hits and seven runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out seven and walking none. Ryan Nikiforow pitched two innings of no-run ball for Central in relief. The hurler surrendered one hit, striking out four and walking none.


Moura and Kursonis each collected two hits for Central. Maude and Nikiforow each drove in two runs for Central. Keondre Gaines, Owen Morrow, and Kursonis each stole multiple bases for Central. Central stole eight bases in the game. Central turned one double play in the game. Central were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Kursonis had the most chances in the field with eight.


Kyle Kaczuwka, Matteo Cuccovia, Logan Millet, and Jack Stathatos each collected one hit for West. Cuccovia went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in.

Northeast's Late Push Leads To Victory Over Metro In Bronze Medal Game

Northeast snatched the lead late in their 7-6 victory over Metro on Wednesday. The game was tied at six in the bottom of the sixth when Griffin Graham scored after tagging up.


Metro opened the scoring in the first after Giacomo Berardinelli III induced Ryan McMahon to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.


Braden Pacini singled to center field on an 0-2 count, which helped Northeast tie the game at one in the bottom of the second.


Metro took the lead in the top of the third. A wild pitch scored two runs, to give Metro the edge, 3-1.


Northeast tied the game in the bottom of the fourth thanks to a double by Julian Rodriguez, and a single by James Gordon.


Northeast took the lead in the bottom of the fifth. Liam Powers induced Rodriguez to hit into a fielder's choice, but three runs scored, to give Northeast the lead, 6-3.


Metro tied the game in the top of the sixth thanks to a walk by Devon Milonopoulos, a walk by Jacob Gisetto, and a single by Jaylen Rivera Fuentes.


Berardinelli III stepped on the hill first for Northeast. The hurler surrendered seven hits and five runs over five innings, striking out four and walking three. McMahon stepped on the hill first for Metro. The pitcher gave up three hits and one run over three innings, striking out one and walking one. Jack Pennacchia threw two innings of no-run ball for Northeast in relief. The reliever surrendered four hits, striking out two and walking none.


Rodriguez went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. Dylan McDermott, Engel Thomas, Pacini, Rodriguez, Gordon, Aidan Bligh, and Pennacchia each collected one hit for Northeast. Northeast turned one double play in the game. 


Metro tallied 11 hits in the game. Nicholas Danna led Metro with three hits in four at bats. David Ruane, Milonopoulos, Gisetto, McMahon, and Rivera Fuentes each drove in one run for Metro. E.J. The inductees will receive their award at a pre-game ceremony at Fenway Park on Friday, June 27 prior to the Red Sox game against the Toronto Blue Jays. The Bay State Games Hall of Fame was created to recognize past participants who have gone on to prestigious and successful athletic careers, as well as former and current coaches, officials, sports organizers, and volunteers who have made significant contributions to the organization throughout its 38-year history. Past inductees among the over 60 previous honorees include the NBA’s Dana Barros (`06), Tom Thibodeau ('17) and the late Reggie Lewis (`02); WNBA’s Rebecca Lobo (’03), the NHL’s Bill Guerin ('09) and Keith Yandle ('14); Major League Baseball’s Carlos Pena ('11) and Rich Hill ('13); Olympians Nancy Kerrigan ('07), Jim Pedro (’04) and Bill Cleary ('14) as well as US Paralympic Gold Medalist Joe Lemar (’15). “The Hall of Fame has been a great way to recognize the many Bay State Games alumni who have gone on to prestigious athletic careers as well as those organizers and officials who have contributed to our success over the last four decades” said Kevin Cummings, the Bay State Games Executive Director. “It is an honor to recognize this year’s class that includes an NBA Champion, a US Olympic team member and a volunteer coach of over thirty years”. PAT CONNAUGHTON - BASKETBALL/BASEBALL Pat Connaughton was a two sport Bay State Games athlete in both Basketball and Baseball. In high school at St. John’s Prep, he earned the Massachusetts Basketball Gatorade Player of the Year Award. After an illustrious basketball and baseball career at the University of Notre Dame, Pat led the Irish to its only Men’s Basketball Conference Championship in the ACC. Pat was selected in the MLB draft in 2014 and NBA draft in 2015. In 2021 he became an NBA champion with the Milwaukee Bucks. Beyond the court, Pat is Co-Founder and CEO of real estate development company, Three Leaf Partners, headquartered in Milwaukee and he started the Pat Connaughton Foundation in 2016 based on the pillars of - courts, clinics, and character. BRIAN HARRIS - BASKETBALL / SOFTBALL COACH A lifelong resident of Somerville, Brian has volunteered as a Bay State Games coach in both girls basketball and softball for over thirty years. Brian is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Harvard Law School. He spent over three decades serving at the Somerville District Court. Brian is involved with several youth organizations and serves as board president of the Somerville YMCA. Brian has built an extraordinary coaching legacy across high school basketball and softball, amassing over 500 varsity wins and earning numerous Coach of the Year honors. ADA KORKHIN - PISTOL SHOOTING Ada Korkhin from Brookline, competed at the Bay State Games in Pistol Shooting. She also served as a Bay State Games Ambassador at Brookline High School. At the age of 14, Ada started competing internationally with trips that included events in Buenos Aires, South Korea and Egypt. She has medaled at multiple world and US events. At the age of nineteen, Ada made her Olympic debut as a member of the US Pistol Shooting team in Paris. She is currently a member of the Ohio State University shooting team where she is studying biochemistry. On May 5, Jenny Pizza was awarded the Kristian Rose Memorial Scholarship at the 2025 McCormack Department of Sport Management Awards Banquet. Jenny is a freshman at UMass Amherst. She is originally from New Jersey and chose to attend UMass to pursue her passion for sports and management at the Isenberg School of Management. On campus, Jenny serves as a manager for the UMass Women's Basketball team and is active in Women in Sports Management (WISM). Her dream is work for the New York Yankees and hopes to work toward gender equality in every aspect of the sports industry. The Kristian Rose Memorial Scholarship was established by Bay State Games and UMass Amherst in memory of Kristian Rose, who was tragically killed in an auto accident during his Bay State Games internship. This scholarship is open to Sport Management students at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, with preference given to students with community service experience, and financial need. Bay State Games is excited to announce an expansion to their partnership with MA Army National Guard as the presenting sponsor of the 2025 Bay State Games Wrestling tournament and a supporter of many additional sports. The 2025 Bay State Summer Games Wrestling Competition Presented by Massachusetts Army National Guard will take place Saturday, July 12 at Game On in Fitchburg. Wrestling athletes who finish in the top 3 will be awarded a special custom medal unique from other BSG medals. A new 2025 Bay State Summer Games Commander's Cup Presented by MA Army National Guard trophy will be presented at the conclusion of the tournament to the top performing club. MA Army National Guard will be onsite throughout the wrestling competition, which coincides with numerous Bay State Games tournaments at Game On in Fitchburg on the same day. MA Army National Guard will be onsite at various competitions for many fun and informative activations. Events they will be present at include Trap Shooting on Saturday, May 17 at North Leominster Rod & Gun Club in Lunenburg; Soccer, Field Hockey, Volleyball, Wrestling, and Archery on Saturday, July 12 at Game On in Fitchburg; Track & Field on Saturday, July 19 at Regis College in Weston; and Rugby on Saturday, July 26 at Union Point Sports Complex in Weymouth. “We are thrilled to expand our partnership in 2025 with the MA Army National Guard and are looking forward to the many ways they will enhance the overall athlete and spectator experience during the 2025 Bay State Summer Games,” said Bay State Games Director of Operations, Alanis Tirabassi. “Through this partnership we will be able to incorporate some new and exciting activations, promotions, and awards through many of the Bay State Summer Games events with a focal point on the 2025 Wrestling competition and the weekend at Game On in Fitchburg.” “The Massachusetts Army National Guard is proud to collaborate with the Bay State Games, united by a mission to forge toughness, build character, and elevate excellence through personal growth, physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship,” said Lieutenant Colonel Brent S. Bay State Games athletes excel on AND off the field! BSG Field Hockey athlete and current sophomore at BMC Durfee High School recently published her first novel, "In the Game." "In the Game" is a teen/young adult action/romance novel based in Paris, France. Synopsis: Colette Toussaint is no stranger to hard work. After being pulled out of a public high school in the tenth grade and thrown into a rigorous training program via her parents’ agency, Colette was forced to ditch a normal life and focus on saving the world as a spy... All at the grand age of sixteen. And now, two years later, on the cusp of adulthood, she feels like she’s finally getting the hang of things. That is, until a video call by her best friend and future heir of the company, Jean-Luc, reveals to her that she’s definitely not. Colette’s entire perception of herself is flipped upside down; how is she supposed to finish the mission with knowledge of the inevitable? WOBURN (November 15, 2024) – The Bay State Games has selected six statewide scholarship recipients for the 2024 Future Leaders Scholarship Program. These student-athletes were selected from a large applicant pool after a process that included committee reviews of all applications and virtual interviews with selected applicants. These future leaders were selected based on their achievements and involvement in academics, community service, athletics, and leadership roles. The Bay State Games Future Leaders Scholarship program was established in 1989 and has since distributed nearly $400,000 in financial aid. Each of these high school seniors will receive a $1,000 scholarship for their first year of college. “Since its inception in 1989, the Future Leaders Scholarship Program has recognized outstanding high school students that excel in the classroom, in the community, and on the field of play,” said Kevin Cummings, Executive Director of the Bay State Games. “We are proud that this program has provided nearly $400,000 in aid to support the continuing education of these well deserving student-athletes that represent all regions of Massachusetts and many different sports.” This year’s six scholarship recipients are Akosua Adu-Gyamfi, Priya Bedard, Shannon Gustin, Keira Manning, Emilia Maria-Babcock, and Amelia Spencer. Akosua Adu-Gyamfi is a resident of Holden and attends the Winchendon School. At school, she plays on the varsity basketball team, where she is an active team leader. She played in the 2024 Bay State Games Girls Basketball Showcase on the Central team and won the DICK’S Sporting Goods Sportsmanship Award. Akosua started a Bible study club at her school and plays the piano. Outside of school, she is a childcare worker at a local elementary school and volunteers at the Akwabba Free Clinic in Worcester. She hopes to continue playing basketball in college while studying criminal justice with hopes of becoming a lawyer. Priya Bedard is a senior at Medway High School. At school, she is captain of the varsity softball team and plays on the varsity soccer and basketball teams. Priya competed in the 2024 Bay State Games Softball Showcase and was awarded the DICK’s Sporting Goods Sportsmanship Award for the Southeast team. She was selected as her school’s representative to attend the MIAA Leadership Conference. At school, Priya is a photographer for the school newspaper and volunteers for Relay for Life. She is currently completing an internship at the Innovation Center Pathways at Milford Regional Hospital. She volunteers at the Medway food pantry. After graduation, Priya plans to continue her academic and athletic career at the University of Hartford as a member of the softball team. Shannon Gustin is a senior at Rockland High School. She is ranked #11 in her class, sporting a 4.22 GPA through her junior year. Shannon is the Spirit Chair on the student council, which includes planning inclusion pep rallies, dances, spirit weeks and any other school spirit related event hosted at our school that bring us together as one “Bulldog Nation”. At school, she is also a member of the volleyball team, a founding member of her school’s DECA chapter and Vice President of Career Development, is a feature editor and writer for the RHS Veritas newspaper, and a secretary of Key Club. She was a founding member of the Women’s Empowerment Club at her school, which successfully was able to get feminine hygiene products installed in all the girl’s bathrooms at her school. Shannon is a high school sports and prom dress content creator as well. Shannon also competes in figure skating with the Winterland Skating School and has competed in Bay State Games Figure Skating competitions since 2016. Shannon plans on attending a 4-year university to study marketing and journalism to later work in the sports media field after graduation. Keira Manning is a native of Marlborough and attends the Advanced Math & Science Academy, where she plays field hockey and lacrosse. She is captain of her co-op field hockey team with Marlborough High School and is on the MIAA Student Advisory Committee. Within her school community, she is involved in a variety of clubs, including Leaders of Tomorrow, NHS, and Peer Mediation. She is a member of the Principal’s Council and is a Bay State Games Ambassador. Keira played for the Central team in the Bay State Games Field Hockey Showcase for 3 years. Keira is involved in the community through the Marlborough Public Library as a member of the Teen Advisory Board. She has won several leadership awards and attended leadership conferences all around the county, including being one of the four students from Massachusetts to be selected to attend the National Student Leadership Summit in Indianapolis this past summer. Keira plans to continue playing field hockey at Dickinson College after graduation while studying international studies or pre-law with hopes of attending law school. Emilia Maria-Babcock is a senior at Everett High School. She is ranked #6 in her class of 630 students with a 4.76 GPA. She is captain of the varsity basketball and soccer teams and plays softball at Everett High School. She played in the Bay State Games Girls Basketball Showcase for the Metro team twice, winning a silver medal in 2023 and gold in 2024. Emilia is the president of her class, in NHS and Spanish NHS, a student ambassador, and a member of Key Club. She has been presented with a National Women in Sports Leadership Award. When she’s not on the field or court, you can find Emilia playing the violin in the high school orchestra. Emilia is a youth basketball and softball coach and works as a sailing instructor. She hopes to become a physical therapist. Amelia Spencer is a native of Lynn and Winthrop and attends Winthrop High School. She holds a 4.3 GPA through her junior year. She has been president of her class for two years, is president of the student council, and was the sophomore class videographer. She is also a member of student government, debate club, math club, and wellness club. She is an MIAA Student Ambassador, Morgan’s Message Ambassador, and Bay State Games Ambassador. Athletically, she is captain of her school’s ice hockey and softball teams and played in the Bay State Games Girls Ice Hockey Showcase for 3 years, winning the gold medal each time. She is a Learn to Skate instructor, a Special Olympics volunteer, and completed an internship with the North Shore Navigators. Amelia was one of 4 students from Massachusetts to attend the National Student Leadership Summit in Indianapolis this past summer. In college, Amelia will continue to play NCAA Women’s Ice Hockey and will be studying special education and minoring in nutrition. Her dream job is to become an adaptive physical education teacher.
