BSG 40 - BSG 30th Anniversary (2011)

Week 30 means it's time to revisit the 30th Bay State Summer Games! In 2011, the Games were held July 5-24 across 18 venues. Some notable ones were Bentley University (baseball), Harvard University (swimming, diving), Regis College (softball, baton twirling), UMass Boston (badminton, wrestling, judo, weightlifting), and Wentworth Institute of Technology (girls basketball, lacrosse).

Throughout the the summer, there were 26 sports: archery, badminton, baseball, basketball, juniors basketball, baton twirling, diving, fencing, field hockey, 6v6 field hockey, ice hockey, judo, lacrosse, pistol shooting, rifle shooting, soccer, 7v7 soccer, softball, swimming, synchronized swimming, table tennis, track & field, trap shooting, volleyball, weightlifting, and wrestling. 


One notable athlete who competed in the 2011 Summer Games was Nicole Woods. Woods, then a student at Beverly High School, played on the Metro/Northeast team (#6) in the field hockey showcase. After high school, she played field hockey at Louisville before joining the U.S. National Field Hockey team.
