BSG 40 - Nancy Kerrigan
Winter 2023 Figure Skating registration is open which means it's time to talk about the first Winter Games competition! We have to go all the way back to 1985, but before Nancy Kerrigan became the legendary figure skater we all know now, she was a 16 year old competing in Bay State Games Figure Skating.
The Stoneham native made the drive up to Williamstown to compete in the first Bay State Winter Games, and became one of Bay State Games' first gold medalists in figure skating.

Just a few years later, Kerrigan rose to national and international prominence after winning two Olympic medals. Kerrigan returned to Bay State Games in 1992 to perform in the Bay State Skate Show, an exhibition show at the figure skating competition.
