35 years! We are getting closer to 40.
The 2016 Summer Games looks very similar to the Games we see now. The new logo has been in use for a couple of years - the notable bright orange flame donned on the jerseys and t-shirts. 2016 also sported one of the best athlete gift (in the admin's opinion) - the black backpack. The BSG staff still uses theirs daily (there's only one left for the archives - sorry).
The 2016 Summer Games featured about 7,000 athletes in 26 sports at 20 venues. Sports offered were archery, badminton, baton twirling, baseball, basketball, fencing, field hockey, figure skating, ice hockey, judo, lacrosse, pistol shooting, rugby, swimming, synchronized swimming, soccer, softball, shooting sports, track & field, volleyball, weightlifting, and wrestling. That year, the youngest athlete was 6 years old, and the oldest athlete was 86.
